I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at HCLTech (Mumbai) in Jan 2021
Interview
I went through two Technical wound and then HR discussion. Overall experience is very nice.
My recruiter and HR are from Bangalore. Both were very cooperative and claim. HCL BGV progress is along and strict process. My recruiter was very helpful during the on boarding process. He explained me about the BGV process very nicely and always answer my queries. I really admire their HCL on boarding process.
The interview process typically follows a series of structured steps to evaluate a candidate’s fit for a role. Here’s a general overview:
1. Application & Resume Screening:
After a candidate submits their application, recruiters review resumes to shortlist individuals who meet the job criteria.
2. Initial Contact / Phone Screen:
A recruiter or HR representative contacts the candidate to discuss their background, the role, and salary expectations. This call may also assess basic qualifications and communication skills.
3. Technical / Skills Assessment (if applicable):
Candidates may be asked to complete a test, portfolio review, or coding challenge, depending on the role.
4. First Round Interview:
Often with the hiring manager, this interview focuses on work experience, technical skills, and understanding the candidate’s approach to problem-solving.
5. Second Round / Panel Interviews:
Multiple team members may interview the candidate to assess technical depth, team fit, and behavioral competencies. This may include situational or STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) questions.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at HCLTech
Interview
There were multiple technical rounds, one specific to the skills I achieved and one related to the field. Each round happened one day after the other, and in three days I was done.
