I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HCLTech (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Jul 2022
Interview
Took overall 2 months for the interview.
Round 1: Coding round
Round 2: Technical Interview 1
Round 3: Technical Interview 2
Round 4: HR Interview
Even after completing all rounds, HR are quite rude and constantly kept the same behavior during the later phase. There were 3 Hrs included in the later phase which makes this part a total mess up.
Everyone has some attitude problem. I don't know how HCL is incorporating such people in its organization.
They will constantly try to downplay you and force you to accept the offer letter which they create below your expectations and also add a lot of variable to it.
Although, I had told them that I was not interested anymore. Still they kept on reaching out to me on phone to send mail and they replied quite rudely on the mail.
I don't understand, they are frustrated or they have some different mind set for the people they are hiring.
Personally, I had to decline the offer due to this behavior and the ctc breakup they offered me after agreeing on some other amount.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical round 1: OOPS, Recursion question easy, SQL query to find third highest salary, Java stream api.
Technical round 2: Basic coding, about the project, Java 8 features.
Got offer but very bad experience with the HRs, which ultimately led to offer declination.
The interview process was simple and beginner friendly. Most of the questions were basic Java concepts, discussion about projects done in college, and a simple coding question. The interviewers were friendly and focused more on understanding problem-solving approach and communication skills rather than asking very difficult technical questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One of the main things they asked was about OOPs concepts in Java, such as inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, and encapsulation. They also asked to explain these concepts with simple real-time examples. Apart from that, there were questions about college projects and one basic coding problem.
The interview process at HCLTech usually depends on the role (fresher vs experienced, developer vs support vs consulting), but the overall structure is fairly consistent.
Typical flow:
Online assessment / aptitude test
Technical interview
HR interview
Sometimes managerial or communication round
For freshers, there may also be:
group discussion (GD)
coding round
