I recently went through the selection process for the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) role at HCLTech, and I’m excited to share my journey. The eligibility criteria required 70% throughout academics with no backlogs. The process consisted of four rounds: an online assessment, HR screening, a technical interview, and an HR interview.
1. Online Assessment
The first step was an online test comprising 75 questions to be completed within 90 minutes. The test was divided into several sections:
Coding-Based Exercises
Technical MCQ Key Topics (DBMS, OOPS, CN, ST, OS)
Logical, Verbal, and Quantitative Reasoning
Analytical and Critical Reasoning
2. HR Screening
This was a short online and straightforward process where we were asked to present our Aadhar Card 10th, 12th, and UG mark sheets. This step was primarily to verify that we met the 70% eligibility criteria.
3. Technical Interview
The next round was an in-person (campus) technical interview. It started with the interviewer asking me to introduce myself and explain the projects and internships mentioned in my resume. Since I am a MERN stack developer, the interviewer focused on topics like JavaScript, React.js and MongoDB.
4. HR Interview
After clearing the technical round, I attended the HR interview in-person (campus). The questions were mostly situation-based and managerial in nature. Some of the questions included:
Conflict Resolution: “How would you resolve conflicts in a team?”
My willingness to relocate to PAN India.
My hobbies and achievements.
Outcome
Three days after the final round, I received an email requesting me to send my documents for verification. This marked the successful conclusion of my interview process.
