      Tech Support Interview

      9 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HCSS in May 2019

      Interview

I received several emails to take the same test, which is a junior high math test that seems to serve no purpose other than to weed out as many people as possible. I got an email to select my own time for an interview and my recruiter called me at that time. She spoke very quickly and seemed distracted. I received a standard email response rejecting me a few days later. The process was pretty standard and robotic.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HCSS

      Interview

They ask a lot of scenario based questions and you also have to take 2 math assessments. I just wish they would tell me what they actually wanted. It’s the weirdest interview I have ever experienced. Instead of asking about each previous position, they dance around the subject and make you bring it up on your own. I don’t understand that method of interviewing at all. I’m an incredibly hard worker and I have a lot of experience, but it still wasn’t enough for this company. You can still apply, but don’t get your hopes up. Anyone too eager and passionate gets the X too.

      Question 1

It’s hard to remember questions while you’re in the interview.

      Tech Support Interview

      4 Sept 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Houston, TX
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HCSS (Houston, TX) in Aug 2018

      Interview

Lengthy, convoluted, unnecessarily complicated. Interviewer was nice, but clearly FOS. They're looking for purple squirrels and paying pennies for them. They waste a lot of your time. Don't bother learning about the products, it doesn't matter.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Suppose you start at $32,000 per year (about $16/hr .), receive $3,536 in company paid insurance benefits, receive 32% of your base in 401K/Profit Sharing/ESOP benefits, and cost the company 8% of your base in FICA taxes. Suppose also that you are trained for 4 months, plus get 7 holidays and 10 days total of sick leave and vacation your first year. Assuming 176 work hours per month and 8 hours per day; in your first year, what is your cost to the company per hour that YOU ARE AVAILABLE TO HELP A CUSTOMER?
