I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HGA (Milwaukee, WI) in Feb 2018
Interview
I met HGA at a campus career fair. About a week later, I got an email inviting me for a on-site interview. The mail had a typo in the subject line. I asked about travel reimbursement and was told they do not pay for travel costs. I asked for a preliminary phone interview before traveling (on my dime) to the office. They declined and wanted an on-site so that I could "get a feeling for the office". I accepted the invitation and traveled to the office for the interview. The interview lasted ~45 minutes. I only met with the one engineer. They gave an introduction and then asked for me to introduce myself. Then asked me if I had any questions. This was awkward as I still did not know much about the company/position. They had a list of very basic questions, not specific to the position. About two weeks later, I received an email with an offer. There was also another major typo in the subject line, "Offer Letter for [not my name]". I was very turned off by their unprofessionalism of releasing the name of another applicant and general interview process.
Thank you for your feedback. While we have an in-depth recruiting and interview process at HGA, this was a very unfortunate situation and we apologize for your experience.
HGA recruits from many schools across the country, receives employee referrals and online applicants from various sites. We do reimburse for longer distance travel costs and we are sorry you were not given that same consideration.
We strive for recruiting experiences at HGA to be positive both for the candidate and our recruiting team whether the outcome results in an offer or not. Your input was valuable and shared with our team. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us a review. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
