I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HILLS Properties (Dayton, OH) in Sept 2018
Interview
The interview process was very good! I felt as if every question asked was appropriate and relevent to the job I was applying to. They wanted to make sure I was a good fit for their company and office just as much as they were a good for me. I had two interviews: one with the Property Manager of the location I was applying to and the other with the District Manager. I felt as if they used real life instances to figure out how I would address them to determine if I was a good fit. My favorite aspect of the interview process was the fact that they both asked me what my goals were. It made me feel like they are genuinely interested in what I want to accomplish and want me to do well!
I applied online. I interviewed at HILLS Properties (Cincinnati, OH)
Interview
It's a multiple interview situation. Expect to interview with the property manager/staff, district manager, and director of marketing. Leasing consultants are cross trained on everything from rent collection to renewals, and it's understood that you'll have promotion opportunities from within. They're not just looking for a leasing consultant. They're looking for their next business manager, property manager, etc.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you feel about asking someone to put down $300 for their security deposit? How do you ask them to sign a $20,000 leasing contract?

Interview
After applying online, I was contacted to set up a phone interview. The day of my interview, I did not get a call at the scheduled time. About an hour later, I got a call saying the PM was stuck in a meeting and would call when she got out -- she never called. The following day I received another call to reschedule my interview. Again, they did not call at the scheduled time. If this is a representation of how Hills Properties operates, I do not want to be a member of their team. I never heard from the company again.
