After applying online, I was sent a short grammar assessment, which involved identifying errors in sentences and proposing corrections as needed. I then had a relatively brief phone screen/interview with an HR person. The questions were pretty standard and focused mostly on my educational and professional background. I was also asked several questions that were more job-specific, focusing on my experience with different types of writing and approach to editing. After the phone interview, I was sent a longer writing assessment that closely resembled the work that writers at the company typically do. As long as you are able to write reasonably well and follow the assessment instructions very closely, this should be pretty straightforward. After submitting the assessment, I received feedback from an editor at the company. I made a number of edits to my original writing assessment, resubmitted the assessment, and received an offer a few days later.
