I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HackerRank (Palo Alto, CA) in Aug 2018
Interview
Applied online through their website and was sent a HackerRank challenge (of course) as the first step. There were 4 questions that were practical and fair and tested your general familiarity with different programming concepts. There's also a role-playing scenario where you're given a situation and have to respond to a customer's email -- very cool because I've never had to do anything like this before.
Once you pass the test, there's a call with the manager, recruiter, and then an on-site if all goes well. The on-site is mainly focused on your past experience, the company's values, and a little bit of technical aptitude. The entire process depends on your availability and how quickly you want to move. The recruiter was very responsive and set the expectations clearly.
Overall a very organized and quick process. Loved it!
