I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Harris Teeter (Greensboro, NC) in Jul 2011
Interview
I applied and called about two days later to make sure the hiring manager saw my application and to let him know that I was still interested in the job. He viewed my application that day and called me the next day to offer me an interview. I came and spoke to him he asked me basic questions about my previous jobs and why I likes working in a customer service environment. Then he told me that a background check would be done and if everything turned out fine I would be called again to go take my drug test. I was called and did take my drug test at Labcorp. It took about a week for Harris Teeter to receive those results and when they did I was called in to begin my paid online training. This took about 3 days due to my school schedule and then I was working the cash register :)

Question 1
What is one negative quality you have? Like what is one bad characteristic.
Straightforward process and not too difficult of questions. Went to corporate office, there were several other candidates there to interview as well. All went through interview process around the same time other candidates in separate areas, and then rejoined once interview was completed to start onboarding.

Interview
I apply through the Harris Teeter careers website.
Then In-Person, lasts about 20 minutes
Very casual and conversational.
They ask Basic questions like “Tell me about yourself.”
“How would you handle an unhappy customer?”
“What would you do if an item scans the wrong price?”
Pretty simple and straight forward, the hiring manager was nice. I'm a full time student so it was a low level part time position. If you have even average conversational skills you should be just fine.
