I applied online. I interviewed at Health Sciences Authority (Singapore) in Apr 2026
Interview
Interview Process
• Panel consisted of Directors, Senior Officer-in-Charge, and HR; duration ~30 minutes
• Initial focus on candidate’s understanding of the role; expectations were clarified during the interview
• Multiple roles within the enforcement branch were discussed, which made it less clear which specific position was being assessed
• Role scope (investigations, operations, field work, additional portfolios) was explained
Questions & Discussion
• Queries on contract vs permanent structure were addressed at a high level
• Questions on staff well-being and support were briefly answered and referred to HR for follow-up
• Limited time for candidate questions due to time constraints
Pros
• Gained clearer understanding of role expectations
• Exposure to multiple opportunities within the enforcement branch
Cons
• Interview focus was split across different roles
• Limited depth in responses to HR-related and well-being questions
• Time allocated felt tight for a two-way discussion
Overall
Informative in terms of role expectations, but the structure and time constraints made the interview feel less focused from a candidate’s perspective.
Interview process was professional and structured. Recruiters communicated clearly and provided timely updates. Questions were relevant and role-specific, giving insight into expectations. Overall, a positive and respectful candidate experience.

The interview process consisted of two rounds with different panels. They asked about my motivation for becoming a forensic scientist. There was also a written assignment and a case-based question to evaluate problem-solving and analytical skills.
