      Head of Paid Social Interview

      3 Feb 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HealthCare.com (Salt Lake City, UT) in Feb 2021

      Interview

The interview process was fine. First a recruiter, then hiring manager then data analysis. However, during the first conversation with the recruiter I was told that my salary expectations could be met. Fast forward to when then gave me an offer, it was $35k less then what I currently make and the equity they offered was extremely low. In my response to their offer I brought up the massive decrease in my pay and how it was discussed during the initial conversation in the process. 8 days later I received the following response "We believe you're a strong and ideal candidate for the position, however, we, unfortunately, are unable to negotiate on the offer that was extended at this time. " Now this leads me to two questions. 1. Wouldn't it of been better and more productive for everyone involved if you mentioned you couldn't meet my salary expectations in the initial phone call? 2. Why in the world would you expect someone to take a $35K deduction in their pay and offer then barely any equity? Overall the experience was complete waste of time and extremely unprofessional. If they treat their candidates like this I would hate to see how they treat their employees.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HealthCare.com (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2021

      Interview

The interview with the HR person went well, and she is very sweet. It was a zoom interview, and while I was on camera, she had her camera off, but turned it on for one second to show I was talking to a human and then turned it off again. I would have rather preferred a phone call so I wasn't talking to a black screen. I was then moved on to interview with the person who would be my boss. The interview questions didn't quite seem to relate to this position, and more related to bidding and paid search features and data analytics. While I have knowledge of those things, I didn't feel that the questions were very relevant to the paid social position. I'm thankful that I wasn't selected for this position, because if those questions related directly to the day-to-day, I don't think it would have been a good fit or something that was really related to social. I wasn't selected for this position, but the people all were very nice.
