Interview
A few years back I was invited to the interview with this company....long time before this beautiful review site existed. This was probably the worst interview I've ever had in my entire life. I entered the room, sat on the chair, I saw my resume thrown in the trash basket right in my face. The owner was sitting in the middle of the room on an office chair and once in a while yelled out at someone in the other room. The interview questions were patronizing, filled with smirks after my answers. I regret very much not leaving right away, unfortunately I stayed until the bitter end. When I came home and relaxed a little from this nightmare, to my big surprise I got an email from High Rank!! asking me to redesign their home page as a part of a competition with other job seekers for the same position! I offered my hourly freelance rate and of course I never heard from the company again.
This company's website is now abandoned and it's now called 1Point2. They have this home remodeling website that still has "site by High Rank" in the credit area. I would not recommend anyone who is smart, applying for these freeloaders -1Point21 & High Rank.
High Rank has been in existence since 2005. In 12 years, we have never asked any applicant to redesign our homepage so this review is simply not true. This same person has also left a fake Google review this week. When we searched our applicant database for the name used in the Google review, nobody by that name had ever applied.

Interview
Short, brief question based interview designed to determine friendliness and eagerness. Easily passable. The process works towards identifying people who "fit-in" and feels more like a popularity contest than a process designed to strike at the heart of your expertise. Highrank doesn't have a flood of highly qualified candidates and prefers to bring in "Interns."
The pay is low and the candidate is usually offered to work half time, but can work as much as they like and usually go full time. This is the norm as Interns are promised a full time position and want to impress, plus need the money. In my time, I met 5 such interns including myself; only one was actually offered a position while the rest were worked well beyond the 3 month trial until they were fired or quit. The candidate who received a full time position had helped High Rank get a new client through family connections. None of that group still work at High Rank.
This review is filled with lies. High Rank stopped hiring interns back in 2013, thanks in part to interns like this guy. Additionally, while most companies hire interns and do not pay them at all, High Rank was paying interns (and this intern is complaining about low pay). A very telling indicator of this guy's mental state and negativity. High Rank has high expectations for potential employees and anyone with a poor attitude (like this person) or an average work ethic (like this person) will simply not be kept on for a permanent position.
