I applied online. I interviewed at Holidu (Munich, Bavaria)
Interview
The interview process consisted of two rounds, one with HR and the following with the hiring manager. The first round with HR was standard; nothing surprising came out of it. However, the second round of interviews was a waste of time. I was required to prepare two presentations based on a given case study and present such to the hiring manager during the interview. To be fair, I spent little to no time preparing for such case studies as I was already dismotivated enough by the fact that I had to do it. Based on my experience with interviews (does not include consulting), I have never seen such a hiring process. Anyhow, I presented the slide decks I prepared, and I was impressed in a negative manner by how the hiring manager remained silent during my entire presentation and did not try to discuss any of my slides. From what I have seen in interviews that do have a case study as part of it, the interviewers do discuss the case study with the interviewee by, for example, asking follow-up questions at least. In conclusion, I felt like the interviewee and its useless case studies were a complete waste of time. Sadly, start-ups are trying to recreate the wheel when it comes to recruiting.
P.S.: I have to admit that I did not prepare for this second-round interview at all, as I already had verbally agreed to join another company a couple of days before this interview took place. Meaning that, you all should take this report with a grain of salt!
