I had an initial phone call with the talent acquisition manager, who gave an overview of the team, the role, and skills required. He seemed a bit surprised when I told him my salary expectations, which were honestly below market rate, and much less then what I actually got elsewhere.
I then had a video interview with one of the directors who went into a bit more technical detail and asked me a few informal questions about my experience. This seemed to just be a casual chat and not a formal interview. I thought this went well, and I was about to answer the majority of the questions, although some would have required me to do further research (they were quite theoretical), which I said at the time.
After this interview there was absolutely no further contact. This was over 2 months ago, which is way too long for the tech industry.
I didn't get the impression in the interviews that Holland & Barrett was a great place to work from a technical point of view. The problem they were solving sounded interesting, although I would worry that future work wouldn't be particularly exciting.
