Most incompetent company I have seen. The people there thinks they work at Airbnb or some place like that. The attitude is beyond pompous. You guys work at a customer facing app, you can't afford to be bad at interview. That's why Amazon is so careful about their interview experience. Learn from them!
I had four rounds for onsite. The first interviewer asked an LC medium but was checking emails, getting up to do some stuff around his house while I explained the code to his wall. Then at the end the guy was telling me I was wrong about time complexity and said it should be O(mn). I couldn't believe the situation because that's exactly what I said! Ask your wall about what I said because the wall actually paid more attention.
The rest of the interviewers were alright at best. The last guy was full of himself too. Talking about how the culture is super important and will weed out anyone that doesn't contribute to their culture *cough whiteness cough*
This is a pretty low tier company that thinks a little above average base pay and WFH is enough. Their app doesn't even have filtering or virtual interlining like Google's flight search. Their whole app is replaceable by one Google search. I don't know why anyone would use this over Google.
Anyway, I interviewed just because the person who contacted was nice. But I have nothing to lose except any respect for Hopper I had. I will go off to work for a top silicon valley company now (and no it is not Amazon), Chao!

Full day of remote interviews, 4-5 sessions each with data structures programming. One behavioral round with hiring manager towards the end. Process started with a technical screen consisting of an online programming assessment.

What would your former manager/colleagues say about you.
The company seemed really pretentious with them trying so hard to emulate Amazon.
Got rejected after a screening round which was an LLD round. Who screens on the basis of LLD though? The interviewer was not engaged throughout the process and was doing some of his own work. I had to say his name multiple times to bring him back to the conversation.
External recruiter reached out, and afterwards I chatted with a technical recruiter from Hopper. The written communication has been great, polite and timely. The initial chat was going fine until we started talking about the rest of the interview process. The recruiter explained to me that the next step was leetcode style and they used to give 2 days for the challenge to be completed but the women engineers complained that it was too short so they decided to make it a week. I got offended by this specification but still finished the interview as if I wasn’t. Did not continue the process afterwards.
