I was contacted the day I applied by email and immediately a phone interview was scheduled. About a week after that, a 2nd interview with more technical staff was scheduled, and a week after that, I received a decision.
Each interview was with technical people. However, Hurricane Labs is an information security consulting company, not a software company, and it was evident in the interview methodology. There was no code reading or writing, for example, and very little discussion of software architecture beyond the most obvious features. The interview was definitely more an informal discussion than anything else. I was able to ask plenty of questions of my own, and get a good feel for the company and nature of the position.
