Complete waste of time! Go read through the previous negative reviews about the company to know what happened. They are all valid!
Glad I found out about these before joining it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Take home assignment ....flatten JSON file with python
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Hyphen Group (Singapore) in Nov 2020
Interview
1. HR / TA screening
2. HM screening
3. Take home assignment (python)
4. HM discussion
5. Peer interview (system design)
I think the overall interview process was below standard, they vanished after my final round which I found highly unprofessional. The problem statement given in the coding round was incomplete and I need to ask them which they later apologised for not sending, such was the quality of the process. Never got any inputs before each interview e.g. the format of the interview, the background of the interviewers etc etc.
The least I expect from any interview is to get the timely updates and the feedback which I didn’t find up to the mark here. The reviews given by others in the Glassdoor seem very reasonable to me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Take home assignment was simple, flattening json. Interview questions were open ended and nothing extra ordinary. Toughest part was the assignment in python.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Hyphen Group (Hong Kong) in Nov 2016
Interview
The interview process was pretty confusing and felt chaotic and unplanned, Data Engineer is a highly specialised technical position, but, the interview was scheduled with a guy from the marketing team. After an hour of conversation, the IT guy showed up with no technical questions and was not able to answer me when I asked him about what technology the company works with and what are the issues that the team is facing at the moment.
After the interview, the follow-up process was really really slow. After two months I received an email that I was selected but they needed time to decide the team structure. One more month passed by and then after constantly asking them for a reply every 10 days, I received an email that the team structure was decided and I should get an offer within that week. 15 days passed by and no reply so I sent an email to the HR manager... NO Reply. I called the HR person and the person I had the interview with. NO REPLY.
All further correspondence has led to no replies.
I don't know if this is incompetence, ignorance or just bad behaviour on the part of the HR Team of Compare Asia.
Luckily this happened before I got into the company so I didn't have to go through this at work
on a daily basis.
Altogether, this was all in all the worst and the most unprofessional interview process that I have ever been through, a simple one line email explaining the reason would have avoided the
whole 5 month fiasco.
