I filled out approximately 243 essay questions on the IWTYTBR recruiting website. I got a call from one of the developers about a week later who set up an interview time.
During the interview, we spoke for about an hour. I answered all the questions honestly and directly. I thought the call went well and the interviewer indicated the next step would be a group interview and I hear back shortly.
After about 2 weeks, I got an email saying they weren't interested in following up with me since I didn't have all the skills they were looking for.
I've been involved in hiring in the past and it is very difficult to find someone who even comes close to the skills you're looking for. I have the required skills but didn't have some of the nice-to-haves and that's what I was rejected for.
The company has a couple of negative reviews on this site, and I can see why. If they're not willing to train developers on some of the nice-to-haves, then this can't be a good company to work for.
