I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ILIA Beauty (Laguna Beach, CA) in Feb 2024
Interview
Introduction email then call. The recruiter wasn't the most friendly or helpful. She was pretty rude. It made me not want to continue with the process. And she made me feel stupid for not knowing certain answers. She wasn't even the hiring manager.
Communication throughout the process wasn’t the best. The person I interviewed with was cold and not welcoming at all. Even if I had been offered I would’ve declined based on the experience.
I spoke to the recruiter and connected on the role, but was initially rejected for the role after we spoke. Later that month, the recruiter reached out to me to see if I was still interested in the role and was asked to interview with the hiring manager. When the recruiter sent out the calendar invite, she sent a broken Zoom link meeting which was really disorganized. We had to reschedule the following week and the hiring manager didn't even speak on the hiccup which was weird to me. The interview was very conversational and I thought we connected really well. I moved to the next round and spoke to someone from creative, but she didn't ask me a lot of questions and kept asking me if I had any questions for her, which also again was really weird to me. She kept saying the bar was really low. I appreciated the constant communication from the recruiter, but felt that the hiring process was disorganized and hectic and felt like I got a glimpse of the company without actually being hired.
