      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at IPSY in Aug 2025

      Interview

Application Process: I applied online and was contacted to schedule an initial screening call. Unfortunately, the invite link was missing, and I only received it at the time of the scheduled call after following up multiple times. This created a poor first impression of the process. Initial Call: The conversation was brief, and while the role was discussed, there was no clarity provided on the interview process itself (number of rounds, format, or timeline). Hiring Manager Round: I had a 30-minute video call that included a short introduction followed by mostly technical questions, with only the last few minutes reserved for my questions. Technical Coding Round: This was the most disorganized part. I scheduled the coding round a week in advance, but at the time of the interview I received a sudden cancellation without explanation. After waiting, I was told it was due to a holiday — something that could have easily been known and communicated earlier. When the round was rescheduled, there was minimal introduction and one of the interviewer kept the camera off the entire time. The interviewers presented three coding problems on CoderPad. Instead of allowing me to complete the solutions, I was interrupted frequently with line-by-line questions about my code. In some cases, questions were moved on to the next problem before the first was fully completed. The pace felt rushed, and I sometimes wasn’t given more than a few seconds to think before being pushed to another question.

      Question 1

In the technical coding round, one of the questions they asked me was a programming exercise on CoderPad where I had to solve a problem step by step. After I wrote part of the solution, the Senior QA stopped me and started asking line-by-line why I wrote each piece of code and what it meant before even letting me complete the entire problem.
