I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Igneous (Seattle, WA) in May 2018
Interview
It occurred to me the other day that I've written code for several interviews, but never (not once!) has reviewing said code been part of the interview process. And compensation. I've never been compensated for writing code (or providing solutions during the interview) before. From here on out, interview coding sans review or compensation is going to feel like just casting code out into the void. Igneous really has something to be proud of in its interview process.

Interview
Phone call/informational interview followed a week later with an in-person interview technical interview with the Operations Director and one of the Engineering staff members. I was given a tour of the office and the server lab. Staff in the office were cordial and friendly.

Tell me how you saved the company money by creating a new feature design or process.
Tell me about a stressful situation where something went wrong and how you redeemed yourself
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Igneous (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2015
Interview
The hiring process is unique and tailored to the work that you will be doing, which is nice. None of the textbook CS theory questions. It starts with a phone screen and then a "homework assignment" which, if that goes well, leads to in-person interviews at their Seattle office. Altogether, the in-person interviews lasted about 4 hours.
HOWEVER, after accepting their offer in November, it was rescinded from me in early April (just 8 weeks short of my start date) due to "program cuts". The rescinding came with no compensation despite the company knowing that I declined other offers to accept theirs. Ironically, the news came just days after I read a Yahoo finance article about Igneous hiring two new executives. Moral of the story is that this start up doesn't have 6 month foresight, so it begs the question of whether they will remain viable in the industry.
