In order to be a part-time desk clerk you will be interviewed by two salaried librarians together. In spite of the fact that you're a Graduate student with a 4.0 average and a full-time administrative corporate career, they will quite seriously pose such scintillating questions as "You're at the front desk. A patron walks up, the phone rings, and the director walks up. What do you do?"
I must admit that, knowing the other desk clerks, who range from phenomenally impressive to incredibly socially inept, I was somewhat chagrined by their complete lack of interest in my skill set...however, the silliness of the interview is fact notwithstanding my personal ego ouchie.
