Well, I cleared all the rounds of interview and the offer was about to be rolled out. In my current company I had 2 months notice period. The HR was very irresponsible. She obtained all the documents for onboarding and salary negotiation also got completed. Before rolling the offer out, she told me that 2 months notice will not work out and asked me to join immediately. I told her that I wanted to check with my current HR and reporting manager if early relieving is possible. I also asked her if buy out is possible. She said she would get back on that after checking with the manager. However, she didn't get back. Meanwhile, I checked with my current HR and reporting manager and came to know that early relieving was possible but I had to compensate the 2 months salary. The position in Infinity was something that I loved and hence I was even ready to pay the compensation myself without any buyout from Infinity.
My whole company came to know that I'm looking for other opportunities. When I tried to reach the HR by call and emails, she and the whole panel waa not responding. It's clear that they have chosen another candidate without even informing me. I escalated but of no avail. This company has taught me a lesson that offers are not reliable even at this stage and HRs can abscond recklessly like this. One should understand the mindset of a candidate how it would be when he/she was eagerly waiting for the offer, ready to party, but was disappointed at the last moment. It is yet another Edtech company without any vision. Even escalation to CEO didn't work.
