I applied online. I interviewed at Information Technology Strategies (McLean, VA) in Apr 2021
Interview
This was one of the more unprofessional interviews that I have gone through. I had no prior experience (technical skills) required for this particular role, however the recruiter decided to proceed and schedule a group interview anyway. It can't hurt to go through with the interview because you typically always learn something new. To preface, the recruiter had said that she briefed the remainder of the team on my skill set and what I have yet to learn. When I entered the call, Janet was not very pleasant. She asked questions about specific programs and program manager attributes knowing very well with my resume pulled up in front of her that I did not have those specific qualifications. Her tone was not at all informative, but rather condescending. The entire time I was asking myself, "What am I even doing here?" Perhaps there needs to be a better screening process and or if the company is open to educating individuals and assist with their professional growth, to have someone who is more personable discuss qualifications and progression with the interviewee.
