I applied online. I interviewed at Investor Group Services
Interview
A classic four-round interview process over a month, involving HR, a consultant, and a senior consultant, combining behavioural, technical, and standard questions. The process was very clear. Be prepared to talk about your past experiences in detail, as they expect you to show how your previous roles have already prepared you for the responsibilities of the position (primary and secondary research, communication for expert calls, ownership, leadership)
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Investor Group Services (Boston, MA) in Mar 2025
Interview
The process was supposed to consist of four interviews: two behavioral rounds and two case interviews. However, the experience was disorganized from the start. The first behavioral interview was scheduled with a partner who never showed up. I waited on Zoom for the full duration and later contacted HR, who informed me that the interviewer had gone on vacation without arranging a replacement.
The next round was a case interview, which went well, followed by another behavioral interview that also proceeded smoothly. The final round was another case interview, but the experience was negative. The interviewer came across as unprofessional, chewing gum throughout the session and responding dismissively when I presented assumptions. While I welcome rigorous pressure-testing, the tone felt unnecessarily rude, with comments like “whatever, I don’t care,” which made the interaction uncomfortable.
Overall, the experience was disappointing. The no-show in the first round affected my confidence early on, and the tone of the final interview compounded that negative impression. Communication throughout the process was minimal, with little transparency or support provided. At times, it felt more like an opportunity for interviewers to practice rather than a structured and respectful evaluation process.
This was particularly surprising given that the company had proactively reached out to me to interview, rather than me applying directly.
I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Investor Group Services (Boston, MA) in Mar 2026
Interview
The process consisted of four rounds. The first round was with HR. The second round included one behavioral interview and one market sizing case. The third round followed a similar format, with one behavioral and one market sizing interview. The final round consisted of two behavioral interviews and one written case.
The entire process took approximately two months, which felt unnecessarily long for the number of rounds involved. Communication throughout was very limited, with little to no guidance, resources, or expectations provided at any stage. There was also a lack of transparency around timelines and next steps, which made it difficult to prepare effectively and manage expectations.
Additionally, the time taken to communicate the final decision was excessive and could have been handled more efficiently. Overall, while the interview structure itself was clear, the candidate experience was negatively impacted by poor communication and slow turnaround times.
