I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ivalua (Redwood City, CA) in Feb 2018
Interview
First interview was a brief interview with the recruiter over the phone. Then one of the engineers interviewed me over the phone for 30 minutes, a technical interview. The third interview was onsite, with the manager and the VP of Professional Services. The interviews took a total of 90 minutes.
My opinion is that this is a very strange position. This position involved no DBA work, no development, just strictly tuning queries. To me, it would seem unfathomable for anyone to spend 40 hours a week tuning queries from week to week- if there was that much effort, something else underlying must be the issue. I doubt if I would have taken the job if offered, seems like it would be a very restrictive position.
