I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JCPenney in Aug 2011
Interview
I had applied in store a couple days before and was told to call in on the next Monday. When I did I talked to the guy and he asked me a few questions. 'What did you apply for?' 'Would you work part time or full time?' and then the last, ' Do you have any cash register experience?' After i answered no to the last one, that was the end of the interview.
Easy, got hired in 1 week and was able to start as soon as possible. It was a good process and I liked the people I interviewed with. The culture is off to a positive start.
