      Scheduler Interview

      17 Nov 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at JD Service Now in Jan 2017

      Interview

This occurred a couple years ago, I don't remember the exact date. I applied online for a Scheduler position and was contacted via email to schedule an interview. I had, at the time, 5+ years experience and was looking to get back into that role. I interviewed with the female owner (I believe it is a husband and wife team). She was nice enough and the interview seemed to be going well until she asked what my salary expectations were. I replied I imagined they had a salary range and I would hope to land at least in the middle. She was clearly not happy with that response and got this kind of annoying smirk on her face and said that obviously I had a number in mind. I informed her in my previous Scheduler position I was making almost $17/hourly but would be willing to start out at as low as $13. As soon as I saw the look on her face, I knew there would be no second interview or job offer. You would have thought from her facial expression I had said I expected $300/hourly! I wonder just what the heck she thinks is a reasonable starting wage for an experienced Scheduler, if a paltry $13 an hour is too darn much! SMDH. She wrapped up the interview immediately at that point and as I predicted, there was no further contact. That was more than ok with me, as a couple weeks later I accepted a Scheduler position in a similar industry, starting off at $18.23/hourly. All in all, a complete waste of my time. Companies need to stop wasting time and put an actual hiring range in their ads.
