I was applying for a police scholarship for the Jacksonville Beach PD and there was only about three real positions available so this was a highly sought after position. Before you can get an interview you first must be accepted through the application process. EVERYTHING must be filled out exactly as it is asked for on the application leaving nothing out or your application will not be process and you will not make it to the next part of the job process. If you have any questionable blemishes on your record (run in with da Law) and you know if you do they will find it so if you do then don’t even bother! Next is the physical part the run jump and crawl. This is where you have to show up and run an obstacle course with a fast time I was under 3.56 minutes and finished fifth overall. Be in shape, and get a fast time they are not looking for a few good slugs, if you pass the grade here as I did then you are asked to a oral interview board. I had to sign a paper that stated I would not disclose what question were ask, but I can say that you should be prepared to answerer questions about how you would conduct yourself as a police officer and how you would go about representing the City of Jacksonville Beach as a Police Officer. My advice is be yourself be honest in your answers breathe, and stay calm and relaxed or the four seasoned officers on the panel will see right through you. They are looking for someone that they can trust serving next to them not a poser.
