I had a poor experience with the HR recruiter for the initial phone screening. When I asked about specifics about the role, the phone screener was not knowledgable about the position, reporting structure, or other aspects about the type of work.
Example 1.
Me: "Can you let me know whom this position reports into?"
HR: "The Hiring Manager."
Me: "Thank you, what is the title of the hiring manager"
Example 2.
HR: "Please explain what skills or assets you would bring to the role?"
ME: ... several examples of my background that would relate to the role and how it would benefit the organization
HR: repeats the question, "you didn't answer the question"
Me: "Can you provide an example or add some clarity in what you are looking for in a response, is it a list of skills, examples, etc."
HR: "Can you just provide what skills or assets you would bring to the role?"
Example 3.
HR: "What would you be looking for to make a move?"
Me: "I am open to competitive compensation, but all in all, I am looking at the entire opportunity, and therefore not stuck on one particular number for compensation; I am sure there is a range for the role and if you can share that with me, I can let you know if it aligns; or I can share with you my current salary and see if this aligns with the expectations"
HR: "I can't share that, I need a number"
Me: throws out arbitrary number (based on what has been read on Glassdoor)
All in all, I left the call knowing that I would not be getting a follow up.
I am hoping this was a bad one-off experience
