I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Jolley Concrete & Block (Killingly Center, CT) in Sept 2024
Interview
Difficult to find, GPS dumped me in an enormous dirt lot with multiple storefronts (none of which had clear signage) the Interviewer did not mention it was not clear where they were located beforehand. I was a few minutes early, when I approached the front desk, 2 staff were visible eating lunch at their desks- neither staff spoke to me for an awkward period of time until I apologized for being a bit early and explained who I was. The person then stood, opened a door for me to come through, filled their water bottle and led me up a flight of stairs, where they paused to speak to their spouse through a doorway about personal logistic matters of picking up children later, etc. The person led me to a room where they pondered over blueprints spread out on a table for a few minutes and then, FINALLY, introduced themselves to me. Fairly informal interview, nothing challenging- I think we both understood it to be not a good match right around the time I mentioned my salary requirement was a few dollars more than what they were offering. I was walked out and told I'd be contacted Friday with their decision and have not heard from them since. That was 13 days ago. I also have not reached out to them to inquire, as 1.) I've been ghosted more times than I count in the last 8 months, regardless of whether I reach out or don't, and 2.) I agree that I was not a good fit for the company and vice versa.
