I applied online. I interviewed at Jost Chemical Company in Aug 2024
Interview
Relatively informal depending on which department and how desperate we are to fill the specific role. Not sure why, but sometimes HR will conduct the interview vs someone from within the department, which is odd. Expect them to not be able to answer any questions or know much about any other departments besides general company policy.

Question 1
General, tell me about yourself and why are you looking to change jobs.

Interview
Filled out application within a couple days got a call to come in. I arrived and took a comprehensive test and you have to pass to be able to interview. The interview was the easiest interview because they don’t ask those behavioral questions are anything. Just simple questions about your past work. Next steps was a background, drug, hearing and agility test. Must pass all to be offered a position.& also my interviewer let me pick my shift during interview which was great because I’m a single mother and wanted to work afternoons.

Interview
I had the phone interview which went well up until I requested the salary range. To which the recruiter said she would get back to me. We scheduled the in person interview a week out. I sent an email requesting a salary range, again, to go unanswered until the day before the interview. I was told this would be discussed in the interview. Look, I am a seasoned professional with a requirement of XXk annual, benefits etcetera.. Your unwillingness to be competitive will drive away talent. Most of all, I have very little leisure in my day to day. I will not spend an hour in traffic battling the hoards of bad missouri drivers. Just to be lowballed.
