The interview process was quite long.
I was contacted about 4 weeks after submitting my application to schedule a phone screen. About a week later, I was confirmed for a phone screen with the recruiter who moved me forward to phone screen with the hiring manager. About a week later, I was invited to the office in San Francisco for a panel interview.
On arrival, I was informed that two of my panelists would not be present for my interview that day. The two panelists missing so happened to be the hiring manager and the director, so immediately I knew that anyone with any decision making authority would not be present for my interview. Aside from the disorganization of the other 3 panelists, I proceeded through the interview nonetheless.
I left the office feeling pretty good about my performance, but still bummed that the most important panelists were not present. I sent my follow-up thank you e-mail, and mentioned that I would be available for a video interview with the two missing panelists.
About a month later, I was informed that "no final decision [had] been made yet" and they thanked me for my flexibility.
It's been about 4 months since, and they straight up ghosted me. I have yet to hear anything at all. I'm assuming that they've filled the position with someone else, likely, who had the opportunity to meet the hiring manager and director.
