Question 1
Why did you not continue working in the last place you worked in?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at KMS Lighthouse
Interview
The interview went well. From notification of interest to the interview date was 6 days. Normal first interview questions asking about my skill set and knowledge. When reviewing the company before the interview I had noticed they had posted for a Tech Support Lead that was more inline with my qualifications and I brought up the possibility for candidacy of both positions, and I was told it wouldn't be a problem. The pay was low for both positions given the expectations(as stated in the company reviews) and experience they were looking for. While discussing salary and role hours, at the interviewers behest, answering the questions honestly, I gave my prior role's salary and I stated that I would be open to negotiation for the pay given the ranges listed and the salary offered. With regard to the hours, they seemed to be trying to bait with the day shift hours, but then saying they needed someone for PM(1-9) times. I expressed interest in AM roles and openness to working after hours as I have in my past roles.
The interviewer was unable to answer any of my questions regarding the team's culture, projects that they were currently working on, or what the first 6 months of success would look like.
After stating that they're looking to hire someone ASAP, I was told their would be a follow up in 1-2 days with the next steps. I followed up at midday on day 2 and was informed that I wouldn't be moving forward in their process(original job posted for more than 30 days, lead job posted for 1 day). It was a polite enough blow off, but I wasn't given any real feedback into what was off other than a mismatch of experience(none that I could tell based on the posting).
Not terrible, questions were reasonable- I used the star method
The final interview was with the Cbo
The other interviews involved hr and other members of the team. Everyone seemed nice
