      Technical Sales Representative Interview

      15 Oct 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Keyence (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2022

      Interview

First, a recruiter will reach out to you on Handshake or Indeed and ask you to apply. They will schedule an info-session with a junior, then give you 5 interview questions on HireVue. That's the first step of the pipeline. You either make or you don't. They'll send you an email 1-2 business days later letting you know if you're selected to the next stage. I was not selected - but the interviews are pretty standard behavioral ones. A mistake I made was I dressed in my casual California attire rather than a smart (polo, dress shirt, etc.) business attire.

      Question 1

Q1: What is your biggest strength? Q2: Why do you think you're a good fit?

      Interview

Very odd, one hirevue and then they fly you out to chicago. The chicago process is smooth. One interview and roll play. Great time to practice skills and continue to get better.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself and to sell them a product I use everyday. They also asked for a time I showed dedication to achieve a goal.

      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Keyence

      Interview

The interview process starts with an informational session. After that, you complete a digital interview assessment, and only those who pass move on to a traditional Zoom interview. There are definitely a lot of stages you have to pass to get to the final round.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They may conduct a mock sales conversation where you will have to sell them something. Or they may ask you what you think will be the hardest part of the job.

      Interview

Good practice for the job, multiple stages involving phone screening with HR, meeting with director, then mock presentation and interview with manager. Make sure to practice discovery questions for the mock presentations to help you understand client needs.
