Interview
Consisted of an initial recruiter screen followed by manager screen followed by final day of interviews. The last day was 6 interviews spread over the day (all remote calls). Calls were a mix of technical and personal.
All together the interview process lasted 6+ weeks. It comprised of 7 rounds of interviews (one hiring manager, one team lead and then a five round interview panel). Pretty straight forward. It included a coding test which was not too difficult, but you have a person with you on the call distracting you and trying to push you down the path they would use to solve the problem. This was the first red flag. A coding interview should be a take home assessment or project related work. Something that would simulate the actual work situation. You also have an interview with someone who used to work for AWS, so expect questions out of left field related to services you've probably never used since there are a dozen other companies that offer comparable services for much less than AWS. They also claim they will evaluate you not just for the role you're going for, but for other roles on the team. This is a boldface lie. Not to mention, it took the recruiter 9 days to get back to me with no feedback other than "everyone liked you" but you're not a good fit. Overall, it was a very off-putting experience. It seems they don't have their interview process down; the questions are all over the place, but do not hit any areas where you can describe your actual work experience. They are just looking for answers to their random pool of trivia questions, which causes them to miss out on talent that could be very useful to the team.
