Pretty easy. Walked in and was asked my desire pay and what my strengths and weaknesses were. Interview was taken in a closet though so that was a little weird.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kmart in Sept 2010
Interview
After one of those standard personality quizzes (the electronic type -- just answer every question as if you'd rather kill a baby than steal from Kmart), you move on to a very, very basic interview. Questions focus on your schedule and availability. Another major focus is personality; if you're working on the floor, they basically want to make sure you're not the type of person that will steal anything. I was asked about previous work experience, but I didn't seem to matter too much. I do recall that upon hiring, there is a single training session, that is very lengthy, required lots of activities and the reading of many thick manuals.

Your standard past experiences and what if situations. They say I know you,
But truly, I don’t.
We have a deep connection?
A long history together?
I can’t believe it. I won’t.
You are hideous. A monster!
There is nothing before me that I wish to embrace.
Be gone, deceitful reflection, and take your disgusting lies with you!
