      I interviewed at Koalafi

      Interview

The amount of hoops this place makes you jump through is kind of unbelievable. I started out with a 45 minute online assessment. It was mostly math problems in the context of business issues. Fairly straightforward. From there, a recruiter contacted me and set up a screener interview call. This was a positive call as well, and I was recommended to move forward. These are where the issues began. For starters, it took a few weeks to get from screener call to the next step of the process. I was recommended to talk to one of the team managers, who gave me a weird theoretical case problem and then asked about some previous experiences. From there, I was supposed to either get rejected or be recommended for the final round. Said team manager then insisted I speak with someone else just to make sure I could go to the panel. So I begrudgingly did so. I was recommended for the final panel, which was supposed to consist of 5 interviews. Said problematic team manager then insisted I do a 6th interview for some reason. No idea why. Then I went through the panel of interviews. There were 2 cases and 4 quasi-behavioral/technical. To be honest, they seemed very disorganized and they didn't have much structure to their interview process, it seemed. Cases were pretty standard, though they disclosed that they stole their cases from retired Capital One cases, which I thought was pretty telling. The behaviorals were okay. There was one particular interviewer that I felt was grilling me on things he shouldn't have been grilling me about, but other than that I'd say those interviews were straightforward. I'd estimate the amount of time I spent going through the process here was around 10 hours. JUST TO INTERVIEW. I gave them a very expedited timeline, which, to their credit, they worked with me on, but I still got a rejection call the next day nonetheless. Koalafi was also the least diverse company I've come across. 8 of my 9 interviewers were white men, and the last one was a white woman. Also thought this fact was fairly telling. Unrelated, but most of my interviewers were very dull. Most of them lacked any sort of personality or people skills. Made the interview process as arduous as possible. This place is a startup, but was by far the most demanding and hard to work with company I've ever interviewed with. I hope they find who they are seeking. I would not recommend this company to any job seekers.

      Interview

The whole process was super long and multiple rounds involved. There was some miscommunication between recruiter and interviewers and they didn't even give me any correct information before my interviews.
