Thought all was going well when I received email for initial Skype interview which seemed to go well and then an email for subsequent second Skype interview with what would be direct manager. During that interview was told company is smaller and communication is very important, we care about people, like a family- feel good stuff literally every company says about itself.
I follow up with thank you for the interview email and received a reply saying they will keep me informed of process. Then I hear nothing for weeks. I did notice they kept the job listing up (only for one state) and figured oh well and wrote that job off.
I then get an email out of the blue about I made it to the next round of interviews and they want to fly me up to New Jersey to meet with senior management and what would be a good date. I was surprised but gave my availability.
Heard nothing back. Several days later wrote another email and then was told would be kept in on the process as they got more details.
Ok I figured they would interview more than one person and perhaps trying to coordinate flights and times to get everyone done consecutively. Remember I have to assume all this because nobody actually does keep me in the loop.
Then over a week later I get a " the position has been filled thanks anyway good luck with your career" email.
Really?
Don't mind being told no. It is the jerking me around I don't appreciate. Why even send the second email and get my hopes up?
Maybe I dodged a bullet. If they were this disorganized and flaky during the application process I doubt it would get better working remotely (telecommute) for them. The whole second half of the application process really irritated me.
If you do the application process with them expect to be kept in the dark and be wary of "being kept in the loop". It is apparently code for we are going to waste your time.
