After an initial phone screening I was invited into the Kongregate office to interview with the CEO and two other employees. Everything went well, and I especially liked the CEO who seemed really positive and down to earth. The other two ladies I spoke with were a bit glum and more introverted, and it felt a little awkward. Nevertheless I had given my all, even though I felt I had done all the talking and only received one word answers to many of my questions. I finished speaking with the third person that day, and she then rushed into a meeting leaving me sitting alone in the conference room. I figured someone would come see me and walk me out of the office. I waited maybe 15 minutes in the room expecting the receptionist or someone to come see me as there was no real closure after my rounds of interviews. While I sat there some of the employees walked past the room with puzzled looks but said nothing, and then I decided I should probably go to reception. Nobody was at reception so I waited a few more minutes and just left.
On leaving the building I felt that I didn't really want the position. Several weeks past and I still didn't hear a word from Kongregate, even after sending thank you e-mails.
Eventually the position was filled but I wasn't disappointed. The interview experience was a little bizarre, and people I have spoken to say it was downright rude.
Anyway the office is nice and I really liked the CEO, but since I'm not a gamer it probably would not have been a good fit anyway.
