I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Kumon (Burlington, MA) in Feb 2014
Interview
The interview process was totally easy. It could have been because the branch managers were more familiar with me than I was with them (I was a previous student of theirs), but it was very low-stress and didn't seem to have any stakes at all.
I was simply called in during business hours while there were kids and teachers and families. They interviewed me at an empty table until more students came in, and then we moved to the small corner office they had. The questions were simple, and given that I was in high school at the time, they made sense.
1. It was a brief phone call it figure out a schedule whether you can come in to taken an exam.
2. Ones you complete the exam, they will let you know if you are right for the position.
There is an application submission, brief interview, basic math/reading assessment, discussion of availability and responsibilities, possible training session, then hiring decision based on communication skills, accuracy, and ability to work with children.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Kumon (Woodland Hills, CA)
Interview
Lighthearted and fun conversation! The boss was very polite and informative on the position and explained a lot about the structure and students. Once on the job, I cultivated an engaging and interactive classroom environment that ignited students' enthusiasm for learning. By tailoring teaching methods to individual learning styles, I fostered a strong sense of interest and participation in the subjects at hand
