I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at LPL Financial (Charlotte, NC) in Nov 2015
Interview
Multiple Hiring Managers. They usually first ask you to walk them through your resume followed by traditional interview questions. For most roles, they are more looking to gauge your personality rather than your skill set. LPL does a great job at preparing you for each role, but they want to ensure you are a good candidate and have the personality for that role.
The company is big on hiring based on employee referrals.

Question 1
Tradition Interview Questions. (they are more looking for personality than experience)
The interview was standard. It was conducted online. The manager was pleasant enough. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. They went over salary, expectations and job growth opportunities. It was a good overall experience.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at LPL Financial
Interview
Most unprofessional interview ever. 2 men in a room with just me, a woman. They had a piece of paper with interview questions on it and clearly, they were just crossing them off the list once they asked them. One of the questions they asked me was, "If you were a pizza, what skills would be your toppings?" Ok...what? This is unnecessary. Then, later, one of them tried to get friendly with me and commiserate about Anthropology at UNCC. He loved a certain teacher that all other students do not like. Then he gleefully reminisced about another teacher there in the department who told him that rape is not wrong. 2 men - one man-splaining to a woman, in a closed room, in an interview, where they have the "power", telling me that WOW! The teacher said rape isn't wrong! Cool, huh?! I couldn't have gotten out of there faster. Turned down the job, obviously.

Interview is done virtually, very laid back and straight foward. Did not take more than a few days to receive an offer. Please negotiate salary even if it is unsuccessful.
