I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at LPL Financial (Charlotte, NC) in Apr 2012
Interview
The hiring process consisted of one technical recruiter screening, and two phone interviews with lead and senior developers. This was a standard practice back in 2012. The interviewing process have changed since then. Now you will mostly be invited for a face-to face interview with a group of senior and lead developers, after an initial phone screening. The interview questions as I recall were very technical and covered mostly Microsoft development stack including C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server questions. Even though most of the questions were technical, a high attention was given to general communication skills and team working experience. The expectation was that the person must be able to get up to speed quickly in technical areas and also not be afraid to communicate when a difficult situation arose. These days the interview questions will mostly depend on a particular needs of a department that is looking to fill a position and a particular skill set required for that position.

A recruiter call followed my HR Interview. Recruiter call was pretty generic, asking about my current experience. HR was a little technical, more specific to technology that their team uses

Interview
Process is good but the interviewers who came were pathetic and not professional interview got rescheduled 3 time and when the interview finally happened I see no time sense at all as one guy joined almost toward the end of call & other one was busy in production issues if that's the case why you guys waste candidates time and patience

Interview
Spoke with a recruiter at the company, and then scheduled and interview with the hiring manager through HR. The interview itself was not great, they did not ask specific questions about experience or skills, and asked very few questions at all. I would have turned down an offer based on the interview itself, because it felt indicative of what the experience would be like as an employee.
