I had a disappointing interview experience with LSEG that felt disorganized and unprofessional at times.
Firstly, after receiving an email inviting me to schedule an interview using a provided link, I found that no slots were available within just one day. When I followed up, I was informed that the hiring manager decided to proceed with "stronger candidates" (they literally mention these words"stronger candidates" on their reply email to me )for the final stage and that I had been placed on hold. This abrupt change, without giving me a proper opportunity to interview, felt unfair and dismissive.
Secondly, during the initial stages, I was asked to join a Teams call with only an hour's notice after responding to an email. Despite the short notice, I politely requested if slots could be arranged for the following week. However, I received no response. The following week, I took the initiative to follow up again, but I was met with silence. This lack of communication felt unprofessional and disrespectful to my time as a candidate.
Lastly, I had applied for a sales role, but during the process, I realized the HR team was not familiar with the job posting. Without informing me in advance, they attempted to move me to a different role entirely, which was unrelated to my original application. This lack of clarity and preparation added to the overall poor experience.
Overall, the experience left me feeling undervalued. While I understand the competitive nature of hiring, clearer communication, more organized scheduling, and greater respect for candidates' time and expectations would have significantly improved the process.
