I applied through university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Lam Research (Bengaluru) in Jan 2015
Interview
It was on campus interview which lasted for 3 days( including one day for result announcement).
Initially online test was conducted which consisted of 20 aptitude questions and 30 basic engineering questions with average difficulty.
Next day results were announced and out of 150, 16 were shortlisted.
Then technical interview for shortlisted students in which they mainly asked design questions and questions from your favourite subject. Even though the questions were easy their attitude was annoying. They had know all attitude on their face and never accepted their mistakes.
After which again they shortlisted around 5 students unfortunately i was eliminated from technical round.
Phone screening - very simple overview of my experience and description of the role. Was asked basic questions on my resume and if I had experience with certain tools. This included SEM, AFM, etc. They also told me about the location
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Lam Research (Tualatin, OR)
Interview
Incoherent; individual interviewers were great, but the process was entirely opaque. I was escorted to the door silently, buth then I got an offer. It was very strange. The hiring manager seemed eager to get me to accept, but was evasive when I asked questions.
