I was initially interested in joining Language Bear as an experienced editor/translator. The recruiter seemed professional in their emails, emphasising long-term collaboration and flexibility regarding workflow. I provided a detailed summary of my extensive experience in iGaming localisation, SEO-focused editing, and multilingual content work, along with portfolio examples and my resume.
While the communication started positively, several red flags appeared: the workflow details were vague, and explanations for workload and expectations were evasive, making it hard to assess the role. Additionally, there was an insistence on native speakers for specific niches, yet no clarity on actual project volume or engagement terms.
After I sent my detailed application, I received no follow-up—effectively ghosted. It is also unusual that this position seems to target very specific markets with lower labour costs, which raises concerns about fairness and transparency in hiring.
Overall, while the initial interaction appeared professional, the lack of follow-through and unclear expectations made the process frustrating and untrustworthy. I would caution other professionals considering applying here.
