      Technical Lead Interview

      15 Aug 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Learning Objects

      Interview

Short version - you'd be hard pressed to find a more unprofessional outfit then this one! Long version - The signs first started during my HR screen call. The recruiter was talking to someone else while on the phone with me. I virtually had to call out to her on on occasion to get her attention. Then she scheduled me for a technical screening with their Tech Lead and FORGOT to update the Lead of this appointment. I couldn't believe it as I sat by the phone and realized I was getting a call! I immediately called the HR lady and she scampered to set me up at another time. Eventually the technical screening went well and I was asked to undergo a codility test online. It took 90 mins of my time over the weekend and when I was done I notified them about it. This is when the unresponsive behavior started. I thought I had done reasonably well in the tests (average difficulty) and when a week passed without even a confirmation of my completing the tests, I sent a stern note to the HR lady. I then immediately got a response back saying she was "sorry If I felt disrespected" and informed me that I had passed the test and they wanted to bring me in. Against my better judgement I decided to give it another go (I really like the position). Then they disappeared again! Been over a week and no response to my emails requesting updates. I finally sent out an email withdrawing my application. A company so INEPT in their recruiting process can never be a great workplace! Consider yourself warned.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Technical screen involved questions about the various technologies I had worked with and my past experience. The codility test was of average difficulty and tested your knowledge of space and time complexity. Credit here goes to Codility and not Learning Objects

I’m so sorry to read this. We doubled the size of our engineering team last year, and absolutely experienced some growing pains. No excuses though. Only solutions. Since then, we’ve put new colleagues and processes in place, and are much more streamlined these days. Thanks so much for the feedback. I hope you found a great new opportunity for yourself!
