I applied in-person. I interviewed at Lehigh Valley Zoo
Interview
They asked very basic questions about yourself and goals. The interview probably took about ten to twenty minutes but overall, it was not the hardest interview I had. They were laid back.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Lehigh Valley Zoo (Schnecksville, PA) in Mar 2013
Interview
The interview is pretty basic and you should be able to answer all the questions. There will be either one or two managers present and they'll most likely be your new direct supervisor if hired. You should get about 14 easy straight forward questions just so they can see your intellect capabilities really.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lehigh Valley Zoo in Jan 2010
Interview
I was initially contacted via phone to schedule an interview with the HR manager. On the day of the interview I was brought in and was immediately brought in to speak with a VP of acquisitions - they focused mainly on aspects of the position with a few opportunities to pitch in to demonstrate knowledge. I spoke with him for about 25 mins before he went to get another senior member. Instead, the HR manager showed up with a mid level analyst and asked some standard interview questions such as "Describe a challenge you've faced," "What are your strengths," "How would you deal with a problem that you just can't get around," etc. This lasted for about 20 more minutes before the previous intern was brought in for another 10-15 mins to chat about some of the specifics of the day-to-day work.

Question 1
What do you do when you run across a problem that you just can't solve and your boss/coworker isn't around to help?
