The interview process was overall fast and efficient. It began with a 30-minute HR call as the first round. If you pass, you'll receive a take-home exercise, and once completed successfully, you'll have a 60-minute technical interview. During the technical interview, you'll discuss the exercise, delve into your previous projects, and answer design-related questions. Next, there's a 45-minute call with an Engineering Manager to assess cultural and behavioral fit, where you'll need to provide examples for each question. Up until this point, my experience was positive, and everyone I spoke with was friendly and pleasant.
However, since I’m not based in the UK, there were budget-related concerns that hadn’t been addressed throughout the interview process. The company explained they couldn’t meet my salary expectations due to the additional costs of hiring overseas and verbally offered a lower amount that could work, which I agreed to. However, they still didn’t find that figure acceptable. Despite passing all stages of the interview, the end result was no offer.
