From the initial interview to the end, I encountered different job descriptions and contradictions about the role. The interviewers' excitement for the company was lacking, and they did not sugarcoat this. During my initial interview, a different recruiter showed up (completely fine). They stated, "I'm terrible at interviews; I never do them. I have a list of questions I'm supposed to ask you." They proceeded to ask about nine questions, some of which were repetitive and they were unable to provide any details about the role, saying, "I don't know, but I can have a recruiter reach out."
A second recruiter called me and mentioned it's a hybrid role involving Account Management and Account Executive duties, but still could not answer all my questions (no big deal; I'm flexible). In the next interview with sales leadership, they arrived late and kept their camera off the entire time. I had my camera on, and about five minutes into the interview, they cut me off, saying, "I'm not going to turn my camera on, you can turn yours off. If it makes it easier for you, you can turn your camera off." They showed zero excitement or interest in me as a candidate.
I was asked only three questions, delivered in a monotonous manner, with no affirmation of my answers. The interview was initially booked for one hour and I was just as glad when it ended early. They also mentioned everyone starts as a BDR for 4 months (So not an AE?). I asked what I could, and by the end, I was cut off again with the remark, "I think we're all set here, thanks for your time," They then ended the call abruptly and closed the Google meet. A week went by with zero updates. I emailed the recruiter and within a couple hours received a copy and paste template rejection. After reading the reviews on Glassdoor, I clearly dodged a bullet. Also, the pay being offered was below average, or maybe they were offering a BDR salary. Not sure if they even know..
